Work From Home Tips: Stay Motivated

WFH has become an identical new normal practice in the area of human resource management due to the wide diffusion of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) across the globe. It is important to know if working from home has an effect on productivity, to figure out if it is positive or negative. When you work from home, you are less likely to step out of your home and go through a typical adult routine. It leaves any employee feeling lost and unmotivated given the physical absence of colleagues, office support, and office infrastructure. Motivation greatly influences individual behavior. Motivation is important in understanding what makes a person do and how they go about doing it. Employees who are motivated to help the company meet its goals perform well are valuable members of the workforce. One of the most important aspects of workers in prevention efforts is the employees' own motivation.

Keeping yourself motivated during adaptation to this change is critical to ensure that the organizational performance doesn’t suffer.

Write Your Goals

Write out your long-term financial goals and career goals. When it comes to personal finance, everyone’s situation is unique. No one has the same bills, rent, debts, or lifestyle. When you’re ready to take control of your financial lifestyle, you need a plan that will answer your specific problems, not your neighbor’s.

There are several types of financial goals. Firstly, short-term financial goals are smaller financial targets that can be reached within a year. This includes things like a new television, computer, or family vacation. Secondly, midterm goals take about five years to achieve. A little more expensive than an everyday goal, they are still achievable with discipline and hard work. Paying off a credit card balance, a loan, or saving for a down payment on a car are all mid-term goals. Lastly, long-term financial goals usually take much more than 5 years to achieve. Some examples of long-term goals are saving for a college education or a new home.

Career goals should be straightforward and emphasize what you want to happen. Specifics help us to focus our efforts and clearly define what we are going to do. Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal you set. When you measure your progress, you stay on track, reach your target dates, and feel satisfaction in reaching your target. Don’t set goals that are too far out of your reach because you probably won't really commit to doing them. Be realistic. This is not a synonym for "easy." Realistic, in this case, means "do-able." It means that the learning curve is not a vertical slope; that you have the skills needed to do the job or that the skills are attainable. Don’t forget to Set a timeframe for the goal: for next week, in three months, in six months. Putting an endpoint on your goal gives you a clear target to work towards.

Heads Up!

Employees who are motivated to help the company meet its goals perform well are valuable members of the workforce. You could listen to motivational and personal development audiobooks. Keep yourself hyped up with some good music to help you levitate your energy to work. Take time away from your desk and start some stretch up, exercise, meditate, move around the house or take a walk outside, or do something enjoyable. Take breaks because if we don’t have downtime during the day, we become irritable and less productive. We know we’re living in crazy times when our governments are asking their citizens to be socially distant from others. It’s more important than ever that we have human contact in other ways. If you need any help, don’t hesitate to reach out and talk to someone.

There’s a lot to worry about at the moment: our health, our families, our parents, and our friends. And what about the future of our businesses and will our jobs be secure? Or if we’re self-employed and have lost revenues, how will we pay the rent this month? If it’s all getting too much, be kind to yourself. Remember the positives - the amazing healthcare workers doing so much for us at this stressful time, and the delivery people, shop workers, refuse collectors, and so on who are leaning in extraordinary times. And check-in with others and ask how others are and how you can help. Watch this!
